LaChiocciola agritourism was established in 1990, and has now become La Locandadella Chiocciola, a small, charming hotel surrounded by ancient villages andverdant hills.It is an old country house dating back to 1400, which stands inthe middle of a garden fragrant with the scent of roses and dotted all aroundwith plant pots full of geraniums and begonias. The centuries-old oak tree andmajestic nettle tree are the pride of the hotel.
There are pergolas and porticos here and there, where guests can relax in the shade and enjoy a good book. The Locanda is in a strategic position on the border between Lazio and Umbria, making it possible to visit many places of great archaeological, naturalist and historical interest. There is Tuscia, with Viterbo, the Etruscan coast, Tarquinia and Tuscania, and Lakes Bolsena and Vico. Or Umbria, with Orvieto, Todi, Perugia, Assisi, the Deruta ceramics and the imposing Cascata delle Marmore waterfall.
Rome is less than an hour away by car, and there are also good rail connections.The pool, surrounded by grass lawns and olive trees, is shaded by oak trees and hazel trees, and is exclusively for the use of guests, to preserve their peace and quiet. The owners, Roberto and Maria Cristina de Fonseca Pimentel, manage the Locanda themselves, offering guests a warm and friendly welcome.
